Why these topics
The articles on this site deal with the questions Swiss SMEs face in practice: the FADP and what it actually requires, the Cyber Resilience Act, the EN 18031 and IEC 62443 standards, the NIS2 directive, and more broadly the IT security of a company with 1 to 100 employees.
These are the fields Säfeli Sàrl works in day to day: bringing products and organisations into compliance with the standards and regulations that apply to them. Writing about these topics is an extension of that work, and it is also a constraint: a published claim is a claim that must hold up.
A note on scope. Some of these regulations are European, and many Swiss executives conclude a little too quickly that they do not apply to them. An SME that exports, that supplies a European client, or that processes data belonging to EU residents frequently falls within their scope. That is precisely why they are covered here.
How these articles are written
The method is the same on every page, and it is deliberately easy to check.
- Official sources first. Legal texts are cited from Fedlex, figures from publications by the Confederation and its offices. Sources appear at the bottom of each article, with a direct link to the original document.
- A figure is dated or it is not published. A statistic with no source and no reference period contributes nothing but an impression. It has no place in an article.
- Every page shows its update date. In law as in cybersecurity, information accurate last year can be wrong this year. The date is part of the information.
- What is not known is stated as such. When a point is uncertain, debated, or depends on a company's specific situation, the article says so rather than deciding just to look good.

This site gives you the basics: understanding a legal obligation, identifying the measures that matter, knowing where to start. It does not replace an analysis of your situation. Your workflows, your service providers, your sensitive data and your business constraints determine risks that appear in no generic article, including the ones published here. Content of this kind informs a decision, it does not make it for you.
